My name is Leanne Matthews and I am currently in my fourth and final year of a Bachelor of Education, specialising in primary school teaching. As part of this course, I am completing a subject called ‘Information and Communication Technology in the Classroom’, and that is why I am preparing this weblog: as part of a university assignment. Throughout my learning of this unit, I will be updating this site with new posts and equally interesting pages, to demonstrate my learning in this area.

Even at these early stages of the creation, I have already found that I am not too far behind Generation X when it comes to using and utilising technology. I have already discovered that my basic computer handling skills are on par with others! I am able to turn them on, navigate their many functions, including the use of many keyboard shortcuts! I have been able to open iweb and create a website – although, to me this is not surprising since I have authored and published a website using this very tool already! I must say, iweb is a great website creator for anyone! Easy to use, easy to make changes and with a click of a button, the site is updated and published ready for everyone to see.

Last but not least, I have been smart enough to sign up for a WordPress Weblog! At first I thought it was just another one of those forums where you post your opinion on anything that takes your fancy. However, this seems to be quite a valuable tool that can be used for professional or social purposes.
